Past,  present, future…

Were you looking for a bike in the year 1912? If so, we were serving up bikes and service in this same location in the year 1912. In all that time we’ve had 3 owners. We like what we do, so we stay at it!

We were originally known as Y-Not Cycle Shop, owned by Ton-Y Minardi.

Arnold and Ethel Missler purchased the shop in 1954, and combined bicycles with powered and exercise equipment. “Arnie’s Cycle” became a well-known icon along the historic district of Norwalk.  Current owners Joe and Carol Missler purchased the business in 1989. Arnie and Tony are pictured here – Tony on the right and Arnie in the back middle.

If you remember doing business with Tony or Arnie, come by and share your story. We continue to support the communities we all live in. We are local like you and provide the personal service you are looking for.  Communities we serve: Norwalk, Milan, Berlin Heights, Sandusky, Huron, Vermilion, Wakeman, Willard, North Fairfield, Greenwich, New London, Mansfield, Monroeville, Bellevue, Clyde, Fremont, Castalia, Port Clinton, Catawba and many more.

Excel Bike is a founding trustee and supporter of Firelands Rails to Trails Inc., a 501c3 non-profit volunteer trail development group. FRTTI builds and maintains your trail in Huron County and supports the development of the entire North Coast Inland Trail. We are committed to safe and beautiful places to ride. We carry free trail maps and can sign you up for membership in FRTTI, or hook you up with volunteer work. You’ll have the time of your life.
